The First Flower
Neoclassical ambient for the grief of the original
Neoclassical ambient music for the grief of the original. Something in you responds to the fuchsia before you can stop it. A million flowers, upright and radiant, and something in your chest opens, not with joy, not with awe, but with grief.
You're not grieving what the field is. You're grieving what it was before it became this - before the rows, before the chemistry, before the profit. Somewhere in the tulip is the memory of a wild thing: a flower that grew where it wanted, that belonged to no one, that was part of the living world before the living world was something we had to name and mourn.
That flower is still in there, somehow. And you miss it.
This track carries that grief, not the horror of knowing, but the older, simpler ache. The mourning for the original. For the first flower, before the field became a field.
Come here when something beautiful makes you sad in a way you can't quite explain. This is why.
